Makeup

Oh.My.Gosh!!! It is Novemeber 1st. Seriously?? The eleventh month is already here. Wow this year has seriously flown by us. This is just crazy!! Thanksgiving will be here before we know it and so will Christmas!! Then it will be 2011...WOW!!!

I am not a big makeup person. At all. Besides drying my hair, I can be ready in five minutes, no joke. Sometimes I think to myself..."should I put a little more effort into getting ready? Umm...no! Why would you want to do that to yourself??" It is so nice being able to fully get ready in less than an hour; that includes shower, blow dry, and makeup.

Then I started thinking again, maybe hubby would like to see me with more makeup. Maybe he looks at other ladies and wishes I wore more makeup. So I decided instead of wondering, just ask him. So I did :)
He said, "Of course not!!! I love how naturally beautiful you are." Ok seriously baby, thank you for such an amazing compliment, because I have to tell you I so do not feel that way when I see other ladies out and about...that is what went through my head.

You see growing up I was definitely not a girly girl. Don't get me wrong, I didn't dress like a boy or cut my hair super short like a boy, but I liked to get dirty. I liked to be outside running around with the boys. I always wore my hair up. I never cared to make it look nice.

The older I got...let's say probably 7th grade is when I cared a little more. Not much more. I wore only foundation all through high school. Yes, seriously! :) Oh and chapstick.
The first time I wore mascara was for my junior prom. I had no idea how to put it on, my best friend Natalia had to show me. Lame, I know. After junior prom I wore mascara all the time. But just mascara and foundation. I didn't care about anything else. Once I got into college, like 2nd or 3rd year is when I started wearing foundation, powder, blush, eyeshadow, mascara and lip gloss. Makeup was never an exciting thing for me. I never got into it, even though all my girl friends did. I just felt like I didn't want it to be known that I had it on.

Well, while hubby was doing his training in Virginia last year, I went makeup shopping with momma and sister. Bad idea!! I got suckered into buying it all. Yes, all!! Oh.my.word!!! It is just so expensive, holy cow!!! I bought foundation and powder and bronzer and eyeshadowS and mascara and lipstickS and eyelash curler and lip liner. Seriously, I think I spent almost $300. That is SO not something I would. On clothes, maybe. Not on makeup. I got home, I looked through it all and yes I decided to return most of it. Because I knew I would never wear it. How awful am I??? This girl at the makeup counter probably just bragged about how much money she made on a sale, and now I am returned 80% of it. :-/
So I went to a different Nordstroms to return ahahah!! :-D

The makeup I bought at Nordstroms was Laura Mercier. Let me just tell you how fanstatic her makeup is. Yes, it is wonderful. It doesn't make me break out. It goes on smoothly. It's light-weight. And well you all should go buy it :)

So with all that being said. Here is the makeup I use daily (lipsticks colors depend on the day). Since you all read about my daily skin routine, I thought I would elaborate a little bit more.
Lucky me is what you all are thinking, I know I know :)

Oil Free Foundation
Loose Setting Powder

Lipstick

Lip Plumper

Lip Gloss

Eyeshadows from Revlon

Mascara from Maybelline

Chapstick

I have no idea how to put eyeliner on, so that is why isn't in my list.
My sister is trying to teach me, but it isn't going over too well :(
Everyone tells me how great my eyes look when I wear it, they say it makes them pop :)
Guess I just need to keep practicing.

Happy Monday Ladies!!

Oooh I love the Revlon eyeshadows too! And I agree with eyeliner, on days where you want a more dramatic look, eyeliner is the way to go :) Love the list!
