Ringing in the New Year...With The Folks

New Year's Eve I was pretty lucky not to be working....especially closing. I was able to be at home, off the roads. It even made me nervous driving that morning because I know people start partying early on NYE. Is that a total mom thing of me? ahaha I was nervous for my sister because she had to drive to work at 3pm and I was just nervous some crazy drunk person might hit her. I get totally kinda paranoid about things like that.
Being that it was New Year's Eve, I wanted to dress up a little...I wore heels :) I am so not a heels kinda gal, unfortunately for hubby as he loves me in heels. I knew I wouldn't drink but more than one drink because I had to get up at 5:00am for work. Before the family and I went out to dinner at a mexian restaurant, I decided hubby, momma and I should have a shot. A fun little way for us to bring in the New Year. I went into the cupboard and took out this
and being that hubby and I have all our stuff in boxes, there were no shot glasses to be found. So momma got coffee mugs and I did free pour :) Now just an fyi, never let me do a free pour, you will be sorry ;)
After the shots, it was photo time...of course :)
Then it was time to hit the road to
where hubby and I each had one of these...yummy!!!
The food was pretty good, but the chips and salsa weren't. The salsa tasted like pizza sauce, umm hello you are not an Italian Restaurant!!!

After dinner hubby, momma, Jim and I partied it up!!! Let me just tell you know it was seriously a c.r.a.z.y. night!!! We came home and put on comfy clothes
don't you just love my outfit...tank top and a scarf ahaha. momma totally made fun of me :)
Then hubby and I cuddled up on one couch, momma and Jim on the other,
to watch some Sons of Anarchy (love this show btw)
and eat Reese's (my all time favorite) for dessert.
Had our midnight kiss at 10:30pm, because I had to get to sleep.
I know what you are all thinking...we are lame ;)
It was a nice New Year's Eve. I really enjoyed it.
I loved that hubby was home this year to celebrate it with me.

The next morning I got up at 5:10am to be at work by 6:00am. SB opened at 6:30am. Then entire time I was there, 6-11, it was so slow. I was bored out of my mind. Everyone was sleeping recovering from a hang over and in my opinion coffee and the smell of coffee is the last thing I want after too much alcohol.
After work, hubby and I went and sold our Honda. Yup, we did it...we only have one car now. We had to because we just cannot afford two car payments with the money we are making right now. So this will be interesting to see how we handle one car. Thank God, momma is home all the I am hoping she can help out :) I love you momma!!!

It was a good weekend. It is a good start to 2011.

When we moved from CA, I left my car there, so we've been living with one car in NC since April. It's actually completely and suprisingly manageable! You just really have to plan everything out. I hope it works out for you both as well as it's worked out for us!! Happy New Year! You and your hubby are adorable and your mom looks like the sweetest woman on earth!

Ha, that sounds like our evening. Low key. Girl, I never wear heels either! I love them, but can't stand to be in them. Hopefully you guys will do ok with one car! It just requires a little strategy.

LOVE the tank top and scarf!
I never wear heels either, I can't even walk in them. My Husband loves heels too, I told him unless he wants to see me break my ankles and fall on my face I can't wear them :(
We left my in-laws around 1am on New Years and I drove home, there was NOBODY on the roads. Of course we live out in the middle of nowhere too.

That sounds like a great evening! I hardly ever wear heels either - For one I'm only about half an inch shorter than my hubby, and they're just plain uncomfortable! Happy New Year!

I am the same way with the roads on New Years (and other big drinking holidays...4th of July, Cinco de Mayo, you know what I'm talking about!). My hubby had to work night shift so I spent the night at my parents house and had a girls night with my mom. Best new years ever in my opinion, but I'm dorky like that and love hanging with my mom :)

P.S. I'm a new follower, but I have been going through your archives and I just want to say that I hope you are able to make it back to California one day. I've lived here all my life and I can't imagine living anyplace else. Hope 2011 is all you hope it to be!

Oh, it sounds like you had a blast!! What a fun night!

I am surprised that the mexican was mom always tells me that you can gauge a good mexican place by the chips and salsa...if they aren't good, the food won't be either :-)
