Three Years Ago Today

Tony & I met 3 years ago today. Craziness!! Time sure flies when you are having fun :)
I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember what he said, what I said. I remember what he wore, what I wore. I am not sure if I have ever shared the story with you...so I think today is a perfect time for that, yes? :)
It was a Friday night and I was in a new town, Oceanside. So I decided I wanted to go out. Well, I didn't have any friends in the area...just my cousin who lived about 20 minutes away. I called her up and asked if she and her husband wanted to go out to dinner. They said yes, but I had to pick the place. Being a girl, and being a girl in a city full of marines what better place to pick than Hooters. Yup you read that correctly...we went to Hooters. I know that might sound totally desperate, but honest truth I was SO not desperate...I just wanted to look. Look a lot ;)
They came over to my apartment to pick me up because cousin's husband and I decided we were going to drink, since cousin was prego at the time. I am not the type of girl to get dressed up, even when I want to meet a guy. Silly, I know. I wore jeans, a gray t-shirt and flip flops. My normal every day outfit. Oh by the way my hair was blonde at the time.

We walked into Hooters and I see guys. Lots of guys. There was one table near the entrance that was full of guys, probably about 12-15. The Hooter's girl sat up right next to that table. My cousin and her husband sat in the seats that faced this full table of marines, whereas my back was facing this full table of marines. Peeved, I think yes!! I said something to them, but they didn't wanna switch sides with me. The waitress comes over and cousin's husband I order a drink or two or three. And a shot or two or three. Did I mention I am a total lightweight?!?! We ordered an appetizer because of all the alcohol we were consuming, then ordered some burgers. When I drink my face gets really flush and I giggle...a lot. We were talking about the full table of marines behind me and cousin's husband was telling me I should go over there and talk to them. Umm...I think not!! I am so not that type of girl, I just don't have the balls to do something like that. So cousin's husband said he was going to go talk to them. All I could think was, what the fuck is happening?!?! Sorry for the language...just trying to get all details, remember I remember it like it was yesterday.  Cousin's husband was over there talking to them for a few minutes, then came back.

He told me to turn around and wave. Fuck no!! I told him. There is no way I am doing that. He came back to our table and told me what he said...See that blonde chick over there, well she is new to the area. She is single. Anyone wanna meet her?
Holy Smokes!!! I was so embaraased when he told me that. But I was totally laughing too. About five minutes later, a guy came over to our table. He had super short hair, almost shaved completely but not quite. He was wearing jeans and a black sweater.

He says, Hi I am Tony. Can I sit down with you all for a minute? I said, Yes of course. But I didn't really look at him in the eye because I was totally shy. I offered him a drink and a shot on cousin's husband. He embarassed me, so I am making him spend money on a stranger...ehehehe.
I had drank so much I had to pee. I told everyone I had to pee...polite, I know. So I got off my chair and stumbled, yes I totally stumbled to the girl's room. Everyone was watching me and I totally knew it. But when you gotta go, you gotta go!!

I got back to the table and we all chatted for a few minutes. I wasn't looking Tony in the eye when I was talking. He tells me now that I just looked at him out of the corner of my eye (ahaha lame on my part, but kinda hilarious too) Tony's table got up to leave, so he told me he had to go. He asked me for my number...so I gave it to him. I had nothing to lose. If he called, he called. If not, oh well, right? :)

Later that night, my other cousin came into town and we went out. Well at about midnight my phone rang from an unknown area code. I normally don't answer unknown numbers, but since it was so late I thought something might be wrong. I answered it and this is what occured, Hi Lindsay. This is Tony. We met earlier tonight. I was just calling to see if this was your actual number or if you gave me a wrong one. I responded, Hey!! Then lots and lots of giggling and laughing on my part. There was no way in hell I could have thought of a wrong number, I was too wasted. Not that I would have wanted to because Tony was is totally hot!!

For the next couple weeks, we did the awful dating game. You know, where you aren't sure how the other feels. You don't wanna call or text too often. You don't wanna be that girl. Yes, that totally happened. And can I just tell you all I am so thrilled to not  be in the dating game. It is just cruel and horrible and I hated it. Although some people love dating a bunch of guys...it just wasn't my thing. I was totally attracted to Tony. There was something about him that drew me to him. He gave off this bad boy vibe and it was so hot.
Maybe that is because he has about 10 tattoos, just saying.

The end of March beginning of April we got serious. And by serious I mean, Tony moved in with me. I know it happened fast. But I think when you know, you know. We clicked and we knew we wanted to be together. We talked about marriage I believe in April. Tony told me he loved me in Italian first, then a little while later in English. Now here we are four Februaries later, we are 7 months married.
Tony is the love of my life. I believe he is on this earth to be my husband. He treats me like every guy should treat his wife. He is perfect for me.

That February 15, 2008 was the day my life changed forever. For the better :)
I love you baby!!
