One of the Best Weekends

Going away for the weekend was a great decision we made.
We had so much fun enjoying each other's company. Being alone. Being at the beach. Relaxing.
It is always hard to come back to reality.
It was totally worth it and an amazing anniversary weekend!

Be prepared....long post and tons of photos :)

{Day One}
On our way out of town, we made a pit stop at Starbucks, then were on the road. We didn't hit any traffic, thank God. When we got down there we grabbed some lunch at Fashion Island and then walked about the outdoor mall until it was time to check in. Our hotel was about a half mile from Balboa Island, which is perfect for us to walk to {which we did the entire time}.

We decided to bring our own alcohol to have a pre-dinner shot. No worries we took a cab. Went to the Yard House, which was delicious as always. Of course had my Long Island and Tony had a few beers. We got an appetizer of chips and guacamole {their guac is amazing by the way...the put feta cheese on top}, then split a steak sandwich. Yes, we often split food when we go out because we never finish what we order.

 We opted to walk to the hotel after dinner because a cab was throwing our money away we concluded. Seriously to go a mile and a half it cost us ten bucks!!! What a friggin' rip off!!! So we walked home :)
I had heels on, so naturally Tony offered to give me a piggy back ride {see photo below...totally blurry, but hilarious}. It didn't last long because we were a little tipsy and we didn't want to get hurt. So I just walked barefoot the rest of the way. Good times with the hubs :)

{Day Two}
We woke up and walked to Balboa Island for some coffee and breakfast. The weather was amazing and couldn't have been more perfect. It was beautiful outside!! We were in heaven :)

After doing some walking, we drove over to the other side of Newport and walked along the boardwalk and had some lunch at a yummy Mexican place. Then it was time for some laying out, relaxing, and sun!!!
Huge smile on my face...Tony not so much. He gets bored too quickly.
Well as you can tell I got some sun. So did Tony.

When we got back to the hotel, we exchanged gifts.
Tony got me: a Coach purse, Coach wallet, and facial products I have been wanting.
The wallet had gift cards in it...so cute huh? :)
Starbucks, Outback, Movie Tickets and Coldwater Creek Spa.
He is amazing!!! :) :)

I got him a white gold chain with a white gold cross
Olukai flip flops and I made him a photo book on Shutterfly
 {consisted of a million photos from the day we met until 4th of July 2011}

For dinner we went to The Cannery. Amazing food. The upstairs is a bar and sushi bar...the downstairs is dining. We did both of course because this night was our anniversary dinner night :)
We had some drinks and sushi.
I had Alaskan King Crab Legs and Tony had Swordfish and some wine for dinner.
Everything was delicious!! They knew it was our anniversary, so they brought us free chocolate cake and ice cream. Amazing!! I totally recommend this place.

{Day Three}
We woke up and walked to the Island again for coffee and breakfast. Again, the weather was perfect!!
The sun was out...it was beautiful!!
We walked around the island a couple of times, the had lunch at Wilma's Patio.
A place that has been on the island for as long as I can remember.

After lunch, we had a Balboa Bar {an ice cream pop dipped in chocolate and covered with whatever topping you want} at Dad's. A tradition if you go to Balboa.

On our drive home, we stopped at Universal City Walk and had dinner...then Cheesecake Factory a little further down the road for dessert. Delicious!!

We had an amazing weekend. It was perfect. One of the best weekends we have ever spent together. I am so grateful to call Tony my husband.
He is amazing and so wonderful to me.
Here's to a 100 more years together!!
I love you!!
