Holiday Weekend Recap {Photo Overload}

This was our first time hosting Thanksgiving, any holiday actually. This was our first time cooking a turkey. Wasn't too bad. I would totally host a holiday again.
Here is the recap:
Wednesday night Tony took out all the yucks from the turkey, I just stood there and took photos like the good wife should right? ;)
Then we seasons the turkey from some recipe I found online about 5 minutes prior....because well, that's how I roll...waiting till the last minute to figure out what we are doing :)
Thursday morning I woke up at the butt crack of dawn, in the freezing cold apartment, to stick the turkey in the oven. I waited a few minutes to make sure the oven wasn't going to smoke {because this seems to be a recurrence}. Well, it smoked up the house within a couple minutes. I started cussing! Getting pissed off. I take the turkey out and all the water I had poured in the pan and seasons spilled all over the floor! So of course the cussing got louder and Tony came running into the kitchen. We turned the over off, waited for it to cool off, then cleaned all that spilled inside {which was the size of a half dollar only!!} Finally got the turkey back in and my mood was good again :) Just a minor set back.

Tony set up the table Wednesday night. Thank you Kimberly for lending us a large fold out table.
After the turkey fiasco, I got ready and dad arrived about 9:30-10:00am. So we just hung out for a bit and piddled around in the kitchen. Doesn't dad look so nice in his coat?!? :)
{don't mind the tennis balls on the chairs, LOL, they are borrowed from work}
Now there isn't a holiday without drama right? Here is ours...
So I'm in the kitchen making some coffee for us and look out the front window and see someone touching Tony's motorcycle. My first reaction is, 'Babe!! Someone is stealing your bike.'
So my dad and Tony both run out there. Dad runs back in grabs his gun. Tony runs back in for his gun and phone. He calls the cops. This dude was clearly on drugs and so belligerent. Yelling profanities. Telling Tony the bike isn't his, that he stole it from someone...on and on.
He had a sword. Yes a super sharp sword!!!
Cops get there in like 5 minutes.
Seven cop cars!! Seven!!
The guy was arrested. About 20 minutes into this, his sister comes walking down the road, stating this is one of his bipolar episodes...excusing what he did. I don't care if you are bipolar or completely excuses for walking around with a SWORD?!?!?! Trying to steal.
Tony's bike is totally fine.
Our little feast
Kell wanted dad to make sure the knife was in every single photo...not sure why.

Love this photo because it is more candid

Day after turkey sandwich :)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
The turkey was delicious. All the sides were yum!!
My Pumpkin cheesecake was a hit too :-)
Lauren made lots of pies...pumpkin, pecan, and apple. YUM!!!

Loved spending the day with my family. It is rarely ever just us with my dad and Kelley and Lauren, usually a lot of others are around. So this was really nice. I had a great time.

I got a voicemail from my dad on Friday afternoon, thanking me for a nice day, good food, and time with family. Made my day!!! :)
