Yesterday was a sad day for our family.
Mom and Aarika had to put our family dog, Otis, down. We have had Otis for about 10 plus years. We got him right after our last dog past away.

He has been one crazy ass dog.
But one that our family has truly loved from the moment Aarika picked him out at the pound.

I remember the day they brought him home, he was ecstatic. He was jumping around like crazy.
Full of energy!! Aarika was so excited to finally have a dog...of her own.
Otis was hers.
She picked him out. She picked his name. She let him sleep in her bed.
Otis used to be 'locked up' in Aarika's room during the day because he would escape from our backyard.
But soon he realized he could escape from Aarika's room too. She would leave the window open a tad so he could have fresh air, well smarty pants that he is he learned how to push the window open more
knock out the screen.
We got a phone call a few times from our neighbor letting us know Otis was on the roof.
Yes, the roof!!!! He pushed open the screen from the second story and was hanging out on the roof.

When Erich used to come home, Otis would literally attack him with licks.
Lots and lots and lots of licks.
And the funniest part was that Erich wasn't able to push Otis away, so he just kept getting licked.
Oh good times :)
Otis has also been a pain in the ass, but I guess every animal is at some point or another.
I am going to miss him.
He has been in our family for so long.
Bailee (our other dog) is going to be so lost. That makes me even more sad.
But all dogs go to heaven right?
They get to play again with our loved ones who have passed.
They get to run free. Be pain free.
I know he is up there right now playing with Erich.
Licking his face like crazy because he is so happy to see him :)

Oh Lindsay, I am so sorry for your loss. I am the type of person that treats our dogs like children and at this point really consider them a subsitute for our own. My thoughts and prayers are with your family b/c I know this is tough.

Sounds like you have some great memories tho :)
