17 miles

we woke up to the freezing cold of central california. it was about 38*, and for us...yea that's pretty dang cold! we left cambria to find out hwy 1 was closed going through big sur... seriously?!?! my dad had told us how we had to see big sur. how gorgeous it was. but we didn't want to get bogged down, so we just rolled with it. did a little detour through paso robles and the 101.

we got to monterey. stopped for some more coffee because we it is vacation and there are no rules on vacation. ever hear of the 17 mile drive?!? costs $9 or $10 and you get to drive through a gorgeous, and seriously i mean gorgeous community of homes, trees, ocean and the world renown pebble beach golf course. this was one of the most beautiful beaches i have seen in california. all the waves crashing on the rocks. the white sands. the sounds. everything was perfect.

he seriously has my whole heart!
who wouldn't love to wake up to this as your front yard every.single.day.

by the time we were done with this drive we were starving. because let's be real, 17 miles doesn't mean it takes 17-20 minutes to travel. there are designated stops along the way. your chose if you want to stop. we stopped at about 14 of them. it took us about one hour or so. but totally worth it. its a very well-kept neighborhood. man, i don't even know if you would call it a neighborhood. i would was a community or heck even it's own town.

we drove to downtown monetery near the aquarium which we tried to go to but couldn't find parking for more than 2 hours...so we opted out and decided to have some beers and seafood at Bubba Gump's.
surprisingly delicious! and a super fun atmosphere.

just looking through all these photos makes me want to ditch work and school and go back asap!
