FOOD {WHAT OUR WEEKEND CONSISTED OF}

Happy Monday!! I am two cups of coffee in at 6:40, so I'd say it's going to be a good day ;)

What a weekend. Saturday, we did a little spring summer cleaning and our house feels so much cleaner, less cluttered {not that it even was}, and we made piles of good will items. It was a successful purging of the masses. Isn't it weird how when you clean your house or even just rearrange things, you will cleaner as a person. It is like we are releasing yucky chemicals in our body... I feel lighter. Does that even make sense?!?! AND!!!
I actually hung pictures in our bedroom. After 2 years of living here, I actually made our bedroom look more like a place we live and not a hotel room. I love it!! Well, as much as you can love an apartment bedroom ;)

With that taking all freakin' day, we decided to treat ourselves to a date night. A date night to a new restaurant., King's Fish House in Calabasas. We sat outside because lez be honest, the weather could not have been more gorgeous. I love being able to wear shorts in the evening and not freeze my butt off.

Appetizer: lobster crunchy roll
Dinner: Tony- Cioppino; Me: a lobster. Like a full on lobster they had in the tank swimming around, then steamed for my liking. Now, it was delicious. seriously it was so tasty. Until.... I cracked the butt {do they even have butts?!?!} and out pours this green smudge gooey crap!! It seriously grossed me out, and my meal was over....

I couldn't stomach eating anymore. At first I thought it was a bad lobster, then I had flashes of food poisoning run through my mind. Thankfully the waitress popped in and told us it was completely normal. Apparently that is the 'liver' of this little ocean friend. So FYI if you have never cracked open a full lobster, be prepared to see this 'stuff' :-/ I will never again get a full lobster....
But we just laughed it off. Well Tony did, I just couldn't get over the sight of it. So naturally I made him take me to SusieCakes for a red velvet cupcake. It was a win win!

What I love about Sunday's....
our tradition of chocolate chip gluten free pancakes & coffee // turkey burgers and beer // pumpkin pie

According to Tony, with pumpkin pie now being at Costco, that means summer has ended and fall has begun. Which also means, he will be eating them out of their pie because he will probably get one weekly until Christmas. Ok...maybe not weekly, but I am sure at least every other week.

I think I need to go work out now, being that this entire post seemed to revolve around food... And not clean eating food. Grocery shopping Sunday was all veggies and fruits :) One happy girl right here.

I would be the same way as you if something like that happened to my food! I'm so scared of food poisoning! I've had it twice and it was more than enough!

Yumm pumpkin pie & fall!!!!

My husband and I were the same this weekend. We were all about the food. We did throw a few errands in here and there but it was based on some delicous food. That lobster roll looks amazing!

Ok I just bought picture frames for our room bc I am like you with no pics up!!! I bought them a month ago and still no pics printed to fill the frames!! This has motivated me though!! Also gross on the lobster- I would not have been able to eat it either!!
