a bridal shower with 20 years of friendships

Saturday afternoon/evening, myself and 6 other bridesmaid hosted a bridal shower for one of our dearest friends who is tying the knot May 17th. It started out as a dessert coffee shower, but with so many people involved in the planning, it turned out to be dinner and dessert, with a fabulous signature cocktail by yours truly {see bright blue drink below}. 

A glass of Riesling to get in party mode. Or to de-stress... Or to... heck, let's be honest, setting up a party is just always more fun with some booze!!

I have been friends with these girls for about 20 years. Yes, 20!!! Yesterday when I did the math I thought it was 17, obviously my math skills suck...so yea, 20 years!! That is more than half my life. We have all had our ups and downs, times where we didn't talk, and within the last 3-4 years, we have all come back together and it feels like just yesterday we were eating lunch in the cafeteria in 7th grade {which is when I met them}. A few of them have known each other for 25 years.

As the evening continued, it got pretty darn chilly, so I pulled out the denim jacket. Seriously, this jacket is probably one of my favorite purchases from last year. I pair it with almost everything. Definitely a staple to have in the closet!

Saturday night was a great time catching up with friends, celebrating an upcoming marriage, and a perfect night to be with the girls.
